Poppet is a singer and fashion model from Soarite, she was artificially manipulated to become a pop idol and bring money to her managers, having no memory of who she was before this.
Her songs usually have this techno-pop, upbeat and robotic vibe to them, and she often has concerts and merchandise for her fans, with a regular flow of new songs and dances.
Appearance
Poppet is a 160cm tall Puppet Drimare, her skin is white and made of a plastic-like material. She has glossy blue eyes, long caramel blonde hair and two short black horns on her head.
On her back, she has her wind-up key, which is shaped to resemble gold angel wings. Being a Puppet Drimare, she has the appearance, of a ball-jointed doll, having joints on her arms, legs, neck and body. She wears blue headphones with wings on the ears, a large blue bow on her head, and white gloves.
On her neck, she wears a white wing-shaped collar tied with a simple blue bow. Poppet wears a white and blue dress with black frills, short black sleeves and a white corset with a blue heart in the middle.
She wears black kneehigh socks and blue heeled shoes decorated with angel wings.
Personality
Poppet lives up to her name, and she often acts puppet-like and her personality can be summarised with the words "bland" and "cute". Her image is what's relevant to her job, and Poppet wouldn't have the will power to express herself even if she wanted.
Every word that leaves her mouth sounds like what someone would say if they were being held at gunpoint and forced to act like everything was alright. Poppet isn't aware of this as this is just what her persona is meant to act like.
She often acts cute and innocent, while making it clear for the fans to buy her merchandise, clothing lines and everything else. Poppet isn't good at one on one social interactions and is made to keep her personality and interactions to social media platforms only.
Poppet is unaware of the fact that she is being brainwashed and she just keeps on living her life while being a product.
Relationships
Malinka
Malinka was Poppet's childhood best friend and partner in crime before Poppet was abducted and brainwashed to forget her past life as an orphan and her friendship with Malinka. She doesn't know that the Rainbow Drimare is still trying to find her after all those years.
Synthia
Synthia is an acquaintance Poppet was inevitably meant to meet due to being a Soarite celebrity. Poppet doesn't really have many opinions about Synthia or anyone else, and their interactions have been uneventful. Poppet fails to realize how unsettled Synthia feels by her presence.
Backstory
Poppet was an orphan Puppet Drimare from Soarite who grew up in the Rainbow District. She liked to perform outside along with some other orphan children, and particularly her best friend Malinka, so they could afford to get money to get food and survive.
Poppet stood out for her singing talent and dancing and one day she was abducted and brainwashed into becoming a celebrity. This made her lose her memories of her past and her friends, getting into a permanent trance-like state and losing any will of her own. She's not completely lucid most of the time.
Deep down she has her original personality somewhere, but she hasn't known herself in years and her friends think she abandoned them
She was normal once, heck, maybe her real name isn't even Poppet, how's that? Poppet doesn't know how bad her situation is. She doesn't really think much of anything anymore...Trivia
- Poppet is very heavily inspired on the singer That Poppy, mostly due to her robotic-like personality and mannerisms that she presents
- Her name is a pun on "Pop" and "Puppet"
- She was actually going to be named Natalie at first and her design was actually more focused on a more traditional looking doll, wearing a simpler emerald green dress. This was scrapped in favour of her current design, but may or may not be repurposed in the future depending on how her backstory develops?
