Spade Noir is the queen and ruler of the Blue Kingdom of Amaranth. She is the current reincarnation and vessel of the Spades Suit, often referred by various names such as the Blue Queen, the Black Spade, or the Coven Queen.
Much like past reincarnations of her Suit, Spade is a powerful sorceress, with her court being a coven composed of powerful witches and wizards.
In past reincarnations, Spade was responsible for sealing away various nightmare monsters and dangerous entities in the various cave systems hidden in the Blue Kingdom.
Being the eldest and most powerful of the Suits, Spade is the main caretaker of these beings. And despite her focus being on the Blue Kingdom, she still keeps an eye on all of Amaranth to make sure that her siblings are keeping everything in place.
Appearance
Spade is a 1.85m tall and slim looking Drimare with pale skin and dark blue hair. Her right eye is replaced with a spade, while her left eye is regular cobalt blue with a spade-shaped pupil.
She has two tall curved horns adorned with various jewelry, and has a magic floating crown that hovers over her head.
Spade wears a long dark hood with a cape with two wing-like sleeves. Under this, she wears a long fancy blue dress and a dark corset.
She also wears long blue fingerless gloves, covering only one of her fingers in each hand. She also has blue nails and wears blue lipstick and eye-shadow.

Abilities
Spade is known as the most powerful sorceress in all of Amaranth, with her Suit's influence further emphasizing this. On top of this raw talent, Spade is also very studious, consistently seeking knowledge to further increase her power and protect her country.
Despite this, she is aware of how dangerous magic can be, and will often seek to silence those who try to mingle with more dangerous forms of dark magic and sorcery. She also guards various artifacts8 and books filled with forbidden magic and spells.
This collection, known as the Forbidden Library, is rumoured to be very vast and is often sought after by thieves and collectors.
Most attempts at trying to take these artifacts have proven to be unsuccessful, but every so often, there are a few who slip through the Spade's watchful eye.
Relationships
Cardiana
Cardiana is due a minor personality rework so this might be changed, but overall they have an amicable relationship.
Lancer
While in terms of power, Lancer's is quite close to Spade's, his more oblivious and distracted demeanour has lead Spade to want to take over as a leader.
Lancer still acts like he's as much of a leader as she is, and while she doesn't deny this, she doesn't exactly agree with it either. But she's not one to start a conflict over who's the most powerful of them.
Clover
The Clubs Suit was created by both Spades and Diamonds, but with their increasingly unstable personality, Spade has taken almost a parental guardian role over Clover.
She is aware of his obsessive and evil tendencies but makes sure that he does not act too much on those urges and making sure he knows she can and will revoke his kingdom if he goes too far.
Despite disapproving of his actions, she still treats him with dignity.
Horace
Spade and Horace
Horace is part of a family of Unicorns who have served the Spades Suit for countless generations. He is Spade's trusted butler and friend who stays by her side no matter what.
She holds him in very high regard and the relationship between the two is quite amicable.
Dorothy
Dorothy was an explorer who managed to sneak into Spade's forbidden library and stole an artifact that contained the demon Okhula, who ended up cursing her entire family lineage.
Although Spade met Dorothy many reincarnations ago, she has never forgotten the Butterfly's arrogance and bragging over her theft.
However, with Okhula being such a low priority demon, Spade has spitefully allowed him to keep cursing the Fleye family. Dorothy had never apologized or attempted to return the stolen artifact and Spade has a hard time empathizing with the rest of her family, regarding them as arrogant thieves.
Okhula
Okhula is one of the many demons that Spade has sealed away and kept in her Library. They were stolen from her by an explorer named Dorothy, and despite Spade's anger at this theft, she regards Okhula as a weak demon who can't maintain a physical form and is therefore harmless.
Its possession of Butterfly Drimare wings is particularly quirky, but not something Spade considers worth worrying about.
Tyler
The most recent member of the Fleye family who sought after the Spade Queen's help with getting rid of Okhula's curse on their family. Spade still resented his ancestor's theft, and she could tell that pride and arrogance was something that ran in the family.
As such, she made him an offer.
Spade would remove Okhula, but only in exchange for the Tyler's own wings, symbolizing his rejection of the family's pride and vanity as an apology for his ancestor's crimes. The wings would become the new artifact that kept Okhula sealed and would be kept safe in Spade's forbidden library.
Tyler was quick to refuse this and threw some very creative insults at her. The queen wasn't surprised.
Sclera
Sclera is a demon that one of Spade's earliest reincarnations had blinded and cursed into never being able to regenerate themselves. With Sclera being such a dangerous entity, keeping her in the Library was way too risky, so instead, Spade decided to isolate her and keep her sealed away in the caves system.
As far as Spade knows, Sclera is currently pacified, and surely there's no way that anyone will ever find them, specially not an overpowered 10-year-old with a book of forbidden magic.
That being said, Spade is not currently aware of Sclera's vessel or their plan to destroy her.
Astra
Astra is Sclera's vessel and Spade has never met him nor has any reason to suspect why a child would have been able to get through her protected caves and made a deal with a demon. She doesn't know it, but this kid will absolutely grow up to become a thorn on her side. Maybe checking on her collection of sealed away magic and monsters once in a while would be a good idea.

"Spades is the eldest and the most powerful of the Suits, however, one wouldn't be able to immediately tell due to Diamonds' more pompous demeanour and leader complex, compared to Spade's quieter and more subtle personality.
Spades always reincarnates as powerful sorcerers and sorceresses, with the blue kingdom being known for being heavily connected to magic, populated by those of similarly magic backgrounds.

Spades is the quiet leader of the Suits as well as the eldest, rumoured to have connections with the goddess Dawn herself. Spades is also the keeper of many evil monsters and spirits which they keep sealed away in the magic caverns spread throughout the kingdom. These are closed off from everyone in order to keep the kingdom safe,
However, every now and then, a spirit or two finds itself released by foolish Drimare who try to venture out into the blocked caverns. Spades does not take kindly to this and will not hesitate to imprison those who endanger the country. However, they can be just as quick to dismiss these cases when the spirit released does not pose as much of a threat."
Trivia
- Spade was initially designed as a sibling for Cardiana, intended to be her opposite but still keeping a similar thematic. As such, Spade's earlier design had a different aesthetic to keep her connected with Cardiana. The idea for the Clubs and Diamonds Suits only came much later, and the concept of the Suits themselves as beings who reincarnated over and over was only established years later.
- In this earlier iteration, Spade went through different variations of the same name due to me feeling that naming her "Spade" would be lazy and cliché, I tried to give her different variations, such as "Spada", "Noire" and "Noire Spada" but I couldn't get myself to like any of them.
- Eventually I gave up and just named her Spade. This currently makes her the only Suit who shares the same name as their symbol.
- In this earlier iteration, Spade went through different variations of the same name due to me feeling that naming her "Spade" would be lazy and cliché, I tried to give her different variations, such as "Spada", "Noire" and "Noire Spada" but I couldn't get myself to like any of them.
- Spade's design takes inspiration on Nightmare Moon from My Little Pony and the Coven skinline from League of Legends.
- Spades wasn't intended to be the leader of the Suits and this was only established later on. The leader spot was originally going to Diamonds, but when Lancer was designed, I realized he just did not qualify for the job, so Spade was made the leader instead.
