This article is still a work in progress and will be updated eventually. It's possible that whatever information displayed was added in a rush and should probably not be trusted.

The Rem Forest is an important region within the Drimare Universe, known as the Heart of the Dream World. It's a vast and ancient forest said to have been the Sandman's very first creation.

It used to be fully inhabited, but as millennia passed and the world expanded, it became home to old ruins and statues, belonging to ancient Drimare civilizations, and it's a very respected place, even considered sacred to most.

There are small villages and homes scattered throughout the forest, as well as a larger village by the name of Utopia located in the surroundings of the forest, still very much inhabited with its own stores, houses and neighbourhoods.

The Rem Forest is the heart of the Dream World, and all the roads are said to lead to it, one way or the other.

History

See The Sandman

"With the growing amount of dreams, the being took a handful of the sand, moulding it at will, creating the ground, the grass and the trees it had seen throughout its existence, and with every dream, its creation grew to become a vast forest, with paths and water, inhabited by the creatures the being had seen in the dreams of Humans."

Rulers

The Rem Forest has no set rulers of its own unless one is referring to the gods.

The small ancient groups deep in the forest will have their own leaders, while other more open locations such as Utopia, are more open.

The depts of the forest are home to certain First Reapers, the main one being Root, who will act as a guardian and protector of those who are lost. While Azriel is the original First Reaper, his more important role causes him to be mostly absent from the living world.

Inhabitants

Despite appearing empty of life, like an old abandoned society with ancient ruins being claimed back by nature, the heart of the forest is still very much inhabited by reclusive ancient Drimare communities, most of which dedicate their lives to worshipping the gods Dawn and Sandman.

It can be quite dangerous to navigate, especially at night, as it is also home to many native creatures and monsters. Because of this, most regular inhabitants have chosen to live in the outskirts of the forest where it is safer.

There are various paths spread all over the forest, old faded signs in dead languages give directions to the Sandman temple located under an ancient tree in the center of the forest. Said temple is said to be guarded by a large divine beast, so very few dare to try and find it, let alone risk their lives entering it.

At night, the forest is home to dangerous creatures that occasionally venture out, preying on lonely travellers that venture too deeply into the forest unprotected. These creatures tend to leak through the Limbo, and are usually sent back by the minor Reapers.

The Rem Forest is primarily inhabited by Regular Drimare, certain Animal and Flower, as well as Wooden and Tree Drimare, the latter being a lot more reclusive and Tree Drimare tend to be.

Most regions tend to have one First Reaper and few minor Reapers depending on their size, however, the Rem Forest is home to a few First Reapers, such as Root and Asriel. Minor Reapers change every few centuries, with the current one being Malice.

Culture and Habits

As mentioned previously, the Rem Forest is a very religious location, with a lot of imagery and ruins relating to the gods Dawn and Sandman. The focus being mostly on Sandman while imagery of Dawn happens to be harder to come by, sometimes appearing shattering or destroyed, in attempts to try and erase her from history.

The symbol of the crescent sun and moon is quite commonly seen and even worn, representing the Gods.

It is also seemingly common to see ancient Drimare wearing masks similar to the one of Dusk in order to ward off malevolent creatures. These masks are similar to the ones of Dawn and the first Reaper Asriel.

Utopia

Rem Forest map sketch

Concept Map for the Rem Forest This is very sketchy and likely to still be changed so take it with a grain of salt :) (Ps: If you know how to draw decent maps and are able to turn this mess into something presentable, then please DM me)

Utopia is one of the larger villages from the Rem Forest, although it's not actually located in the forest, but rather on its outskirts.

Most of the regular inhabitants live there, rarely wandering too deep into the forest and usually just sticking to the outskirts.

Most of the bigger shops and places are there.

Note to self - Zelly, Blade, Imiya, Teia, Kamaria and Luna live there

Nameless village on the left side

Another residential place, with other stores

Don't have much info on this place yet

Rust's workshop is in there

Buildings are farther apart than in Utopia

Note to self - Rust, Steam, Iron and Atomus live there

Nameless village on the right

Don't know much about this place, other than that I know that Bathilda's café is in there

The Sandman Temple

An ancient structure located in the very center of the forest, it used to be a place of worship but it's been abandoned for a long time due to how deep into the forest it's hidden. The more ancient Drimare groups see it as a very sacred place and seek to protect it.

Inside the temple there's an underground chamber which is guarded by Dusk. If you listen close enough, you can hear them outside. The ground tends to tremble when they're awake.

Owlet Library

The Owlet library is a large library located in Utopia which is usually open 24/7. It's run by Imiya and Teia who take different shifts.

Battucino Café

Bat themed café which I desperately want to rename because holy shit that name is cringy LOL

Run by Batilda, mostly active at night, a chill place to hangout when everywhere else is closed.

Main Plaza

Center of Utopia, big Sandman statue is chilling there

Ruins

Which ones, lol

There are so many of the things spread around the forest, mostly ancient temples and statues
